This piece will be mostly ink-based, and I’ll use other materials to bring in depth and highlights. Creating a sense of nostalgia in portrait painting, especially in family portraits, can be achieved with the right techniques. I used white colored pencils for the details and blended everything using a black paint wash. Then, I shaded, colored, and added even more details with black colored pencils.
