I remember working through the night on this magazine cover deadline! Painting these basketball legends was a blast.

Working against a tight deadline for this magazine cover, the power went out! I packed up my art supplies and went to Kinko’s, since it was open 24 hours a day in those days. I worked through the night, not realizing it was morning until I looked up and saw the street cleaners and the sunrise. I got it done, which was a good thing since the magazine’s policy was to just use a photograph if custom artwork wasn’t done in time.
